Pixel Paint
A shared pixel canvas inspired by r/place, where anyone can paint pixels together in real time, built with Deno Fresh, Deno KV and WebSockets.
Pixel Paint is a small website inspired by Reddit's r/place: a shared canvas where everyone paints pixels together and sees each other's changes live. It's built with Deno Fresh, Deno KV and WebSockets in TypeScript.
When you open it, it fetches the current grid and then listens for updates over a WebSocket. Clicked pixels go to the server, which queues them and writes them to KV in batches before sending each batch to every client. Batching keeps it responsive even though the KV write region is in the US, and keeps it under rate limits. Your chosen colour is remembered in IndexedDB.
(I realised far too late that Deno had already made their own version of this. Ah well!)
